2010 Festival Events

3:00 pm - Electrofishing Demonstration on Bear Creek with Maryland Department of Natural Resources - Western Region Manager - Alan Klotz.

3:30 pm - Stream Ecology Demonstration - Investigating the benthic macroinvertebrate community on Bear Creek - Alan Klotz

4:00 pm - Scales & Tales - An engaging and entertaining program led by Naturalists from Rocky Gap State Park. This informative program uses live unreleasable birds of prey and reptiles to promote stewardship of our wildlife and other natural resources. Through the stories, or "tales"of how these animals come into the care of the program, naturalists discuss very important environmental issues such as loss of habitat, pollution, and resource management.  

 5:00 pm - Nature Hike with Kevin Dodge, Director of the Natural Resource Program at Garrett College

5:00 pm - Dances of Univeral Peace - Join us for some drumming and dancing fun!

6:00 & 8:00pm - Rubber Ducky Race - Yep....2 races this year! The ducks had so much fun last year that we decided to allow them 2 floats down Bear Creek this year!

7:00 pm - Viewers Choice Art & Photo Contest winners announced

8:15 pm -Yough Raffle - We have a lot of items that have been donated by various sponsors! We'll be selling raffle tickets again this year so be sure to check out our Raffle Items table!
